WHAT IS IGNITION EVENT?
A unique matchmaking event for ambitious entrepreneurs and world-class scientific teams to launch their deep-tech startups.
Here we blend entrepreneurship and science to create startups based on Commercialization Reactor’s validated Science Commercialization Methodology.
The entrepreneurs become the business leaders and scientists keep building the scientific excellence and core value of the newly formed venture.

HOW DOES IGNITION EVENT WORK?
- Commercialization Reactor selects 10-15 researchers from all over the world that have reached a certain stage in their technology development
- We bring together entrepreneurs and scientists in the Ignition Event™, where scientists present and explain their discovery
- The entrepreneurs ask additional questions to their selected researchers
- The entrepreneur selects technology and works together with the scientist to develop a brief pitch about the potential market application of the technology and to see, whether there is a team potential
- The entrepreneur and the scientist present their pitch to the jury
- The entrepreneur and the scientist decide whether they are willing to establish a team, a proto-company.
SUMMARY OF THE 22ND IGNITION EVENT
We bring you some updates and numbers from the 22nd Ignition Event by Commercialization Reactor (CR) – unique matchmaking platform for ambitious entrepreneurs and world-class scientific teams to launch their deep-tech startups – which took place on October 6th & 7th, 2023!
During the 22nd Ignition Event, 8 technologies were presented by international scientific teams, including scientists from Latvia, Slovenia, Germany, Poland and Turkey, in following industry areas: circular economy & waste management, robotics, fintech, new materials, health tech, medtech, food.
Based on 8 showcased innovations, 10 (!) new proto-startups were formed:
• OLEC, Longevity Blend, HydroGel Carrier, Waste to Well, AlgoRithmX, Print Concrete, Concrete Farmer, AIIM Solutions, AIIM Robotics, Akva Feeder
The 22nd Ignition Event also featured a panel discussion, moderated by Anton Adamovitch, Ecosystem Architect at CR, titled “Ignition Event Experience & The Bigger Picture Beyond” with Entrepreneurs, Scientists and Investors:

• Erick Pastor – Entrepreneurship Development Officer at CR
• Aija Hermane-Sabule – CEO of WatchBuilt (Startup formed during 20th Ignition Event)
